Kent R. McGuire is an Oklahoma civil litigation attorney and the founder of McGuire Law Firm, with offices spanning from Edmond to Lawton.

Licensed in Oklahoma since 1989 (Bar No. 13150) and admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Oklahoma and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, he has more than 35 years of legal experience. 

He spent roughly 13 years as an insurance defense attorney before dedicating his practice to representing injured Oklahomans, and he now uses that inside knowledge of how insurers evaluate and fight claims to his clients’ advantage.

He holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and a 9.1 Avvo rating, and he has been named an Oklahoma Super Lawyer and to The National Trial Lawyers Top 100.

He was also an inaugural member of the Brain Injury Association of America’s Preferred Attorney Network, with expertise in Traumatic Brain Injury claims.

About Kent

Kent grew up on a ranch west of Duncan, Oklahoma. As the first son of a plumber and farmer, he learned firsthand that hard work and discipline are key to completing any task. 

His parents instilled in him that integrity is the core quality of a successful and happy life, and it is those values – integrity, hard work, and discipline that he brings to every case he accepts.

Away from the office, Kent enjoys time with his wife and law partner, Linda McGuire, sons Will and Wyatt, and he is an avid outdoorsman with a particular fondness for upland bird hunting.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, in 1986, and his Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1989.

Kent founded McGuire Law Firm in 2007, and today practices alongside Linda McGuire and Wyatt McGuire.

Kent began his legal career on the other side of the courtroom, spending roughly 13 years as an insurance defense attorney handling the very types of claims he now brings on behalf of injured people.

After years of watching injury victims come out on the losing end, he chose to use what he had learned to help level the playing field for injured Oklahomans.
